Some of the World's Best
Beaches
Almost everyone has their favourite beach where they would like to spend their vacations. There are as many differing opinions about the best beaches in the world as there are beaches themselves. In this brief article, we look at some of the most popular, without claiming them to be the undisputed champions of beaches! For the sake of fairness, the beaches are spread around the world, so some unconventional choices may appear. On that note, we will begin by looking at some of the beaches in Northern Europe. If you click on the name of the beach, you will be taken to a photograph and additional brief description.
The first of our beaches is at Bamburgh in a stunningly beautiful area of the North Eastern English county of Northumberland. Although the climate can sometimes be challenging, Bamburgh is a beach that is worthy of a visit even in inclement weather, especially if you are interested in attractions such as the historic castle, which overlooks the beach. Further North Luskentyre in the Western Islands of Scotland is one of the more stunning and according to the weather, more forbidding of our selected beaches but don't let the poor weather put you off visiting this marvellous piece of scenery. In Pembrokeshire, Wales, is the beautiful but somewhat inaccessible beach at Marloes Sands. Despite the ralive diffiuclty in reaching the beach, the site of the seals that frequent the area and the beauty of the beach itself, make it worth it! Conche des Baleines (The Bay of Whales) is situated at the Ile de Ré, on the west coast of France, relatively close to La Rochelle. Once again, the weather can be quite unpredictable but if you are lucky enough to catch a beautiful summer's day, this beach is one of the best to visit on this wonderful area of France. Our next European beach is at Kampen on the island of Sylt, situated off the North West coast of Germany. Only relatively recently becoming a tourist spot, Kampen is truly a pretty and charming beach. In Sweden, even further North, the beach at Tofta, Gotland is great for tourist activities, particularly Kite Surfing.
